About the Founder
Todd Temaat
Todd is a retired U.S. Air Force officer and digital publisher focused on building AI-informed systems and digital publications designed to serve readers first. He founded Servant Publishing in 2017 and runs it from Edmond, Oklahoma.
Before he started the company, Todd served twenty-one years in the United States Air Force. He enlisted in 1990 and spent eleven years as an enlisted Airman — first as C-141 mechanic, then as a flight engineer on the C-5 Galaxy and the E-3 Sentry. After completing his undergraduate degree, he was selected to attend Air Force Officer Training School and was commissioned as a communications and cyberspace operations officer, serving in that career field until retiring at the end of 2011. Those experiences shaped his approach to problem solving and his belief that systems and processes matter more than short-term tactics.
After leaving the Air Force, Todd accepted a position as a Value Stream Manager for Pentair Water in North Aurora, Illinois, where he learned lean manufacturing principles and worked to continuously improve manufacturing processes in the factory. When he came across the chance to own and operate the first Zippy Shell Mobile Storage and Moving franchise in Illinois, Todd jumped at the chance and, in 2013 opened his first small business. He then sold Zippy Shell Fox Valley in 2015 and moved to North Carolina where he worked at a small Christian addiction recovery ministry called Freedom Farm Ministries helping them improve their internal processes, upgrade their technology, and systematize their operations. During this time, in 2017, he opened Servant Publishing and began taking clients.
In 2020, Todd and his wife moved back to Edmond, Oklahoma to be close to their adult children and their growing families and Todd founded Junk Platoon junk removal in hopes of helping transitioning veterans and building a business he could operate with his children. Unfortunately, due to health concerns, he sold the business in 2024. Servant Publishing, however, continued to serve clients and adapt to the constant change in technology and marketing.
Today Todd’s work centers on building AI-assisted workflows, niche information products, and publishing systems that turn complex topics into trustworthy, practical resources. Through Servant Publishing, Todd continues to explore how technology, continuous improvement, automation, and publishing can work together in service of companies and readers.
